Thanks. I had peeked at their website after your first post, but saw that they were custom built. Still, though, spending your money once is always best. I'll check them out further.

They are the "gold standard" in springs. Mine have been on for many years and no sign of sagging at all. I got great service with them too.

So my leaf springs are absolutely noodled... badly reverse-arched even. So noodled that the guy at Standen's (they custom make leaf springs here in Calgary) laughed at them. Anyways, that looks like a good place to start to fix the "bump".
I told them what I do with my truck (tow around 1500lbs while hauling around 500lbs) and that I wanted to throw on some Supersprings with the new leaf springs and he said that was a bad idea. Apparently Supersprings aren't all they're cracked up to be. He said the better way to go would be to add a 4th leaf to each pack. It'd be cheaper (an extra $100 a side on top of the $250ish for each of the 3-leaf packs) than Supersprings (about $590/pr here in Calgary) and would apparently last longer. Just a ploy to get more money out of me? Or is he on to something? Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Experience with extra leafs or Supersprings?

I agree with him but I honestly just had Alcan build me some.
To my specs! The thing is that you do not want to get another pair of stock
springs then go from there and I understand you are in Canada so It may not be feasible
to go the Alcan route due to the duties but I would honestly suggest having a custom set made for your desired lift and capability!
I have like 9 leafs in mine and am completely happy with them
ran me $560.00 or some thing in that ball park!
If I remember it was like $620 to my door step!
You may want to see if there is a similar outfit in Canada!

So... got me a new set of leaf springs and the problem has been fixed. No more thumping! I ended up going to Standen's here in Calgary. I upgraded to a custom made five-leaf set and the whole truck is much improved. No thumping, handles better, rides smoother, and even accelerates quicker. The whole thing ran me about $1000 installed, but I'm feeling that it was worth every penny. They also recommended not to go any bigger by adding leaf springs or it'll be an uber stiff ride... if I need more support I should look at airbags.
So if anyone else out there is experiencing the thumping definitely take a look at your leaf springs. Much appreciated Dale! Cheers!!
