So I got alittle crazy with my new sway-a-way coilovers(not to mention trying to impress some ladies in my Runner...stupid) and jumped my truck a few times. Anyway on the way home I saw that everytime I put the clutch in, the e-brake light came on. That was over the weekend, now it is just always on. Is there any kind of contact point or anything to related to clutch pedal action and that E-brak light?? I don't see why there would be, but I thought I would run it by you guys. Thanks!

 

Same prob....I figured it was on cause it was -35 the last few weeks here!

 

not familiar with your truck but on my first gen the e-brake light would drive me nuts so i disconnected it at the switch it appeared it would not stay on the push button switch deal , I had the same problem in my 2nd gen so I unhooked it at the switch the same way. Hey if thats all you broke jumping you truck your doing pretty good last time I jumped my truck I had replace my entire front axle housing and a birf.

 

Check your brake fluid. The force change when you shift might be shifting your brake fluid level enough to trigger the light...or you busted something jumping your truck.

Yeah its just the light that indicates the the e-brake is engaged. Can you explain how to unplug the sensor for light.

BTW about jumping my truck, in my opinion, yotas are some tough trucks, and can take some high speed jumps every now and then and should not break. I do have over 2 grand in suspension...cough cough.. If you guys think I am crazy, I need to post videos of what my buddy does with his '05 tundra! All it has is king coils in the front and he thinks he IS robby gordan! haha no joke!

 

Maybe with the newer aftermarket suspensions you can get away with jumping alot. I have a 1979 solid axle it doesnt like to be jumped maybe an occasional wheel stand popping out of a mud hole but no more 4 wheels in the air at high speed stuff for me.

Like I said I dont know anything about your truck it may be different, on my 1st and 2nd gen truck it was exactly the same problem a button type switch under the dash attached to the e-brake handle wasnt making a good contact. To stop annoying E-light I disconnected an electrical connection right above that button activator thingy deal.

 

But you never know with a new truck like yours something else could be wrong most things in my POS are not connected anymore 4wd indicator light, interior lights, dummy sensors in gauge cluster, ECU, emission & smog equipment, sway bar, front axle trac bar, e-brake light, no hazards, turn signals moved to running lights, EGR stuff capped off, no cat, & intake coolant flow capped. I am sure there is more, so maybe you should disconnect with caution.

so I just went out in the cold(about 60 degress here) and checked my brake resi. and you guys were right, my fluid is just below the sensor. Thanks for your help!

 

X2 easy fix...unless you broke it.

 

just make sure you dont' grab the halogen fluid by mistake! jk. Get some video of this jumping tundra, i'm intrigued.
