The bolts in the bed aren't nudging, any tricks on freeing them. It was also my first time using the impact wrench, socket wrench wasn't cutting it. So I might not be doing something right. I usually just work with simply hand tools for everything.

Soak in a 50/50 mix of ATF and Acetone. Supposdly the best stuff you can use

my impact wasnt strong enough so i used a breaker bar with a snipe to take off bolts when i did my body lift

 

I normally take the breaker bar and a hammer, and start smacking. After some PB, of course. Smack the socket. Smack the bar. Use the force.

 

I did my BL this past weekend (on a runner) and just soaked the crap out of the bolts w/ PB Blaster. I was watching the Paraguay vs Spain match so I sprayed them before, during the half, then after and they came right off using a socket wrench.

by the way...my rig lives in TX now but spent the first part of its life in MA, so its plenty rusty under there and I still got em off w/o complication

Its kind of sad, I go through this with almost every bolt, because of the rust.

 

If using an impact on rusty bolts, be careful you don't break the head off and leave the rest still attached! It's a PITA. I'd just soak them in PB or other concoction and use a breaker bar carefully. I dread removing bolts/nuts from under my 4runner

 

Assuming this is a Tacoma, the trick is getting the penetrating oil up where the nuts are, inside the bed rails. Don't just spray the bolt head, because that is not where it is stuck. If you can't get oil up onto the nuts, you might try drilling a small access hole near each nut (the 4 forward mounts) and see if you can get the nozzle/tube on the spray bottle up there. And then let the oil soak for a while, hours to overnight is best.

And you really want to avoid breaking those welded nuts loose from the bed rails, if so, you'll need to remove them and weld in new ones.

 

17mm wrench and hammer did the trick haha, a few good whacks and they came undone. Thanks for all the replies!
