Strawberry milkshake prevention

I did the search for strawberry milkshake and didnt find what i was looking for. Im looking to see if anybody has used a good radiator to hook up to the tranny cooler lines. My 4runner has 186,000 miles and i dont want problems with the stock radator. Im not sure if its been replaced or not.

The radiator I picked up from www.performanceradiator.com has been doing a good job for the past 3 years in my Tacoma. That said, I also run an external cooler (Tru-Cool 4454) and do not use the one in the radiator.

Best prevention is an external Trans cooler... but I too want to upgrade to a better radiator and do an external cooler just to nix the whole S.Shake

Yes, the radiator will be ok. However, to prevent dumping your coolant if the radiator/trans cooler interface should fail, clamp a piece of hose between the two trans hose ports as in post 13 here:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/r.../?ref=esp-link

or cap both ports as said above....either works.

I prevented the shake by changing the radiator to one with without a built in trans cooler and ran an external hayden and its worked great!
