Has anyone performed this mod on the stock rear locker where you can engage it in any drive platform, not just 4 low. If you have, has your check engine light ever come on, (or is it even connected to the check engine light)?. I have a 01 taco that im interested in doing this to. Would like some more info.

This was one of the first mods I did after taking it offroad once. It is very annoying to have to shift to 4low just to engage the locker. I also have run a few trails in 2wd & locked rear just to see if it was possible for my friend who is 2wd and considering an ARB locker. Been over a year with no problems, I don't think it's even conected to check engine light, too many other things to regulate. Just do it.
