Unhappy starting problems?

hey guys i was just courious as to why like every 1 out of say 10 or maybe even 15 times, the truck wont start up unless i give it some gas.... like i said it doesnt happen that often, just occassionally which is weird to me... its a 22 re motor, auto trans.... ive heard it could be cause the thrrottle body needs cleaning, and i did clean it somehwat the other day but i didnt do the full method with the carb cleaner and toothbrush... any other gueses? lemme know - steve

Sounds like a leaky cold start injector flooding the motor.
Is it tougher to start it after a long time sitting?

no when it didnt run for 2 days it started fine.... then like i drove and 30 mins later when i tried to start it it wouldnt without gas.... so what else could it be?

That definately souds like a leaky injector.
You giving it gas (actually you are giving the engine air) to burn the extra fuel puddling in the intake.

Sounds like the CSI...I had the same problem. Actually my problem was that the CSI wire had been cut so it wasn't workin at all!

so whats my solution? buy new injectors? 1 injector? get them cleaned? - any price estimates would be great also

csi = cold start injector? how do i check it? and how much is it ?

There is no good way to check it out, it is usually a "replace it" type of item.
make sure to check all wiring as was mentioned (verify with a multimeter) to ensure operation.

I have the exact same problem, but it happens when I don't start the engine for 2 or more days. What could it be?
