someone blew a tranny driving to fast in 4 low?

in 4lo, the fastest ive ever gone was like 30mph, and even then i wasnt exactly eager to keep pushing it.
i think you need to reevaluate why you even know it can go 45 or 50 in 4lo. also, reevaluate if youre lying or not.

Here you claim you can hit 60+ with no problems.
Keep reading the thread...
Ok I was wrong... The fastest that you can go in 4 Low is 45mph...50 mph and your at redline in 5th gear....

Edit: Just let me know if your still questioning my honesty...I'll take a picture of the spedo at 45 mph on dry pavement with the transfer case in the 4 Lo position (automatic locking hubs).... no problem....

because it can be done with no problems....
So my question is WHY NOT?
If your going to get caught up in a sticky situation....when the ˟˟˟˟ hits the fan....just hit it at full speed and don't look back! These trucks can handle it....no problem....

I think the main concern with driving fast in 4-LO is the transfer case. The case can't handle extended periods of high speed from what I gather. Just an idea.
Of course driving 45 in 4LO looks the same to the engine and transmission as over 100 mph in 2HI, so you have some serious rev issues as well.

I have probably been to about 40-45 mph in 4-Lo, I have a '92 4Runner with 33x10.50's and a 5-Spd manual. But that was only a very short time.
I try not to do above 25 in 4Lo, just because it's easier to shift into 4 Hi. Of course, I try not to go above 50 in 4Hi or 4Lo becauise it eats my CV shafts , I cranked my torsion bars up after all and haven't gotten a diff drop to conserve CV Boots (in 2-Hi I just unlock the manual hubs, so nothing spins while I'm driving around in the city, good for the front 4x4 components).
