Looks like a lot of folks go oem or Performance Friction.

I would like oem or better performance but I dont want to have to clean brake dust off my wheels every day.

How much dust do the Performance Frictions put out?

The Napa Ceramics are supposed to be less dust but are they as good or better than OEM?

Anyone heard of Morse pads?

performance friction pads don't put out too much dust, but they're crap. i had some and they wore out quick. stick with OEM.

 

I would just stick with OEM.

 

I run the Napa united, I have no complaints. Not much dusting at all, plus they're quiet. Stay away from Tru-stops, they dust like a mofo!

 

I have NAPA ceramics on my DD. I love them! Stop great, and the dust is just like a fine white ash (hardly any at all, too), no noise. I'll put them on my cruiser when I get the disk brake axle installed.

 

stick with OEM all other pads wear out to fast cause noise and dont stop as good (unless you go with a total race set up)

 

Let me tell you... I put Morse ceramic pads on a few months ago and I have nothing but great things to say about them! Very grippy and next to no brake dust. I highly recommend Morse pads!!

 

I guarantee the napa caramics will outlast almost any oem pad. Highly Recommended...I just dont think they make any for my 4wd Tacoma..Darnit

 

I've got some performance friction and i can't say i see a whole lot more front wheel dust.

The one thing I'd add, and I may be way off base, is that friction wear would seem to have to happen on the rotor or on the pad. The typical knock on long-life pads is that they've got so much metal in them, that they wear the rotor out before the pad. (The converse being that pads that quickly wear out don't erode much of the rotor away) Seems that what this really gets down to is cost. Would you rather replace yoru shoes or your rotors?

Of course that last statement is a generalization. The folks on this board seem split pretty evenly between a) those who perform brake pad and/or rotor work at least once a year and b) those who pull their brakes apart after 7 years and see they still have plenty of life on their pads/rotors.
