Nice looking pics!!
Howcome the Xterra went under and the other two didn't? I know exactly what he was going through. But I just got some good carpet cleaner and that worked like a charm. Bissel is what I used. Mine had even been sitting b/c of the stupid towing company and now it barely smells at all. (check offroad pics if you havn't seen my posts ) You all have some pretty sweet rigs. I saw the TJM on a pathfinder once and almost but I like that one. I guess its the tires and lift maybe? At first when I saw the tree pic I thought it was corey's 4Runner and I took a double take Glad you had a successful trip and not really any dammage!

My friend with the Xterra is usually very careful when it comes to watercrossings, but this time he went for it and found himself in a 7' straight drop off. Sunk the entire front end under water. He threw me a tow strap and it took me about 25 HARD pulls to get him out. I had little traction as I was pulling from the same cobbled rock and sand that he was stuck in. The bad part was I had to pull in reverse because I don't have a towing receiver. Those 25 pulls alone loosened up my idler arm--but I was more worried about getting my friend's $25k truck out of the water than I was about $15 idler arm bushings. I was yanking hard enough that I fully expected to break a CV or the front diff. Luckily none of that happened.

Anyways, I found out after I pulled him out that he had panicked and didn't shut down the motor. The motor ran until it filled with water and shut itself off. We pulled all six sparkplugs and cycled the starter where about 2 cups or more water shot out of the cylinders. The oil looked like milk chocolate even after changing it once. BUT, he got very lucky. No rod knock or any other mechanical damage and after pulling the mass air flow and other sensors to let them dry out, he drove it 6 hours home. VERY lucky.

As for the Pathfinder looking like a 4Runner--everytime I looked in my mirror and saw the Pathy it looked like Chris Geiger's old 4Runner following me.

Erich--the rack is a Yakima and the carriers are Yakima "TLC saddles."

I wish there would have been more difficult trails up there, but the scenery was worth the drive.

Wow, nice pics. I feel really bad for the Xterra guy I would feel so bad if I did that to my truck.

Wow!!! those are beautiful pictures. Nice to commune with nature and that is the kind of place I would love to go to get away from it all.

Sorry for the X-terra and glad you did not break them CVs or the front diff. Luckily you have the tools to get him out of that water hole and the tools to strip the carpet and interior.

Looks like you had a lot of fun.
