satoshi mod on 1st gen???

any 1st gen runners that have done the satoshi grill mod? Will it actually fit??? I ordered the emblem yesterday and I am going to attempt an install when it arrives. Curious if there was a write up on 1st gens. I have 3 grills so Im not afraid to cut one up.

I put a George Forman Grill on mine. All the fat just drips away.

Whatya mean "Will it fit?" You can cut the center out of *any* grill (almost) and cut a piece of mesh and stick in there. YOU make it fit. How nice it ends up depends on how clever and handy you are though...

Yes it should fit - the TOYOTA emblem from the LCs are not humongously big. The only problem is dealing with how you're going to make the edges look nice again after cutting out the middle.

im thinking a little creativity with the plastic cut out portion and a bit of bondo and maybe it will work out.

easiest way to make a clean cut is to take a razorblade or old steak knife, heat it glowing hot with a torch and just cut away...

make sure you're somewhere ventilated though! i used this method with great success when i frenched driving lights into my '84 toyota grill.

funny, i just checked out Bob_98SR5's site for the first time the other day and was totally blown away by the satoshi grill mod. had me thinking about my old fj40 again. i may just have to order me up a LC emblem! it'll just have to wait in the "to-be-installed-at-a-later-but-as-yet-undetermined-date" box of toys.

personally, i think it's one of the coolest purely aesthetic mods out there.
