okay, so i ordered this simulator back in august of 07 and forgot about it.

i had written down my old address on the shipping form and did the mail forwarding service here in florida and what do you know, it never got forwarded. so after a few months of hectic school work and moving everything to my new place, i finally remembered that i hadnt gotten the simulator yet. so i call Brian over at URD and ask him if they had received the shipment as a return to sender item. he said they had not but that they would ship another one to me at my new address immediately. 3 days later my package arrives with clear instructions and after a quick call to gadget i finish installing the simulator.

now first impressions, EASY EASY to install, principle is sound and an hour later (took awhile to find the ecu - just remove the glove box and the top piece that holds the glove box light and its right back there, laid out just like the diagram shows it) my light turns off.

i wont be able to report if this is a permanent solution or not until i have driven a couple hundred miles. im also going to have the front cat removed in the next couple hundred miles so if it doesnt come back on then, i geuss it is pretty permanent.

i just want to say thanks again to URD and Brian for being over the top helpful in every aspect.

Any word on this yet? Did you ever replace the Cats or are you still running the stockers with no CEL?

I just got a P0420 code on my 2000 4Runner with Cali-emissions. I am trying to fugure out what the deal is.

Thanks

well i drove for a couple hundred miles and the light came back on, reading a P0420 again. i am going to open my dash back up tomorrow morning and make sure everything is still connected properly, maybe even redo the connections and just leave my dash apart for a couple hundred miles.

i havent replaced the cats, and i wont. im not spending 1200$ on a cat i would rather go behind my dash and pull out the check engine light bulb than fork over that kind of money.

as soon as i can get this light to disappear for 1k miles, i am going to cut off my cats and replace them with one highflow cat and be done with my exhaust for awhile. i just got a 2007 sport v8 4x4 so i can leave the truck torn apart for awhile until i figure out what is wrong.

I have a 2000 cali spec vehicle, and I got the same one, but it only comes on when I am on a long drive, and its sparatic at that. I usually just go to Autozone and clear the code and its fine for a good while. I have the prices from many dealers about how much a front cat is if you are interested. And all the dealers are not the same in pricing. I got one quoting me a price 300 under all the dealers near me.

If I should have to replace the two cats with one high flow cat, how much are people paying for it? Decent brands? I wouldn't want a piece of crap that is going to fail in a thousand miles.

Thanks
