The rear end of the 90 model sags pretty noticeably. Just curious as to if anyone has bought replacement coils from the local parts store instead of "lift" coils from the specialty markets. Looking at an autoparts store, I can get replacement coils in the rear for about 52 dollars. Variable rate. Downy wants about 180 I saw, and NW Offroad doesn't publish their prices that I could find. I just want to get rid of the sag in the rear end of the 90 model. Anyone ever use the air lift bags for this? I have them in my 3rd gen and they lift it about an inch above stock height, but I just bought them for extra carrying capacity, not to fix a rear-end sag. I'm not looking to wheel this rig, it is going to a close friend, just want to get it in shape for them.

 

The quickest and I suppose cheapest would be spacers. If you get cheap coils they would probably sag again. Do a search on spacers for more info.

 

Not a bad idea. My only thought is that if I'm doing this, It's really just a band aid. Obviously the truck didn't sag from the factory, so the spring is a lot less stiff than it used to be. The spacer will make it look better, but I'm wondering if a new set of OEM springs wouldn't be the way to go for not only the looks and half the price, but also for the ride factor, both loaded and unloaded.

 

I would not go with factory coils again.
The Downey HD coils I put on are one of my favorite mods to date.

It put the rear up where it should have been from the factory, slightly higher.

Spacers are a bandaid when used with stock coils.
Might as well do it right the first time.

Thanks for the links. I'll consider them. ~100 bucks is more like it. I just didn't really wanna spend 200 just to get it back to "stock" ride height.
