Ok, So I search and all i found was friggen threads on 90 to 95 4Runners (inside the 3rd gen fourm mind you!)... So here's my issue. The rear window just quit working (luckily it was up at the time). When I use the button on the center console, AND when i use the key I can hear the relay clicking. I took apart the door, and verified that the relay was clicking. The rear windshield wiper is seated properly, and the window lock is off (all the other windows work). I can't find my voltmeter, but I am going to check the voltage coming into the rear window motor. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated! I might short the motor with 12V and see if it goes down

Does someone know which wire hooks up to which (Positive and Negtive) on the motor... they are Red with silver dots, and green with silver dots.

 

both negative polarity. I cant remember which color is which.

 

If the relay is clicking, I would check the voltage into the coil of the relay. If there is significant voltage, replace the Relay.

 

if the relay is clicking, then its fine. relay failed when theyre not and being sticky.

Yup, relays click.

 

Polarity changes on the motor depending on whether it's going up or down, that's how DC motors can go both ways. Connect the motor to a 12V source and see if it turns, reverse the wires and it'll turn the other way.

 

Holy brain fart batman. when he said his relay was clicking, I thought he meant it was continuosly clicking.

 

thats true but its mostly likely to use 2relays, reverse polarity w/ ground rested. like this.....

the two output are like the color he stated above.

 

Ok, just in case everyone was still worried... I figured it out. It WAS the rear windshield wiper . This morning it was foggy outside, so i used the wiper to wipe off the window, and right afterwards, the window went down fine... Ugh, when i was making sure it was seated properly i did it manually with my hand, i didn't realize you had to turn it on and off to make it sit right. Time to put the trim back on the back window
