Rear end leaking.

Is there a gasket for the third member housing or will good ole RTV seal it up good enough?

if it's coming from the 3rd member-to-housing seal then yes, RTV is the preferred repair. pretty simple repair, just be careful of damaging axle seals when removing axles to pull your diff off. if you're draining and servicing the diff it might not be a bad idea to replace drain plug with magnetic low-profile version. good luck!

If you have done this repair 100's of times why did you ask if there is a gasket??

Cause the rear end on this is like the rear end on the trucks I work on for a living.....so I haven't really done one on a 4Runner till now.

Myself I would want to know why it started leaking??

I see mechanics like you all the time throw something different at them they most often walk around confused.

I have the same problem with women so I now avoid them.

I simply meant some mechanics work on one brand of anything throw something else at them they panic .

I work with them on a daily basis .

Then you stated I did this repair a 100 times but yet you had to ask for help then you were so inpatient till you saw it was like similar things you had done.
