Rear ABS
#1
I have a 95 4runner with about 90k mi V6 SR5 4x4, I recently had the head gasket replaced and other $$$ maint. done. I am now experiencing the rear ABS light coming on intermittently. I am I in for more costly repairs?. Any advice appreciated. Thanks:pat:

Your parking brake can set off the ABS light. The mechanic may have messed with the rear brakes during your maintenance or possibly the sensor that trips the ABS light. You did not specify exactly what they did as "other" maint. What else did you have done?

Locate the wheel speed sensor and remove it. It might be covered with metal shavings and if so, wipe them off and reinstall it. That might clear the trouble.
If it is not covered with metal shavings, follow the diagnostic proceedure listed in the shop manual and hope for the best.

Rear ABS Sensor
Definitely sounds like the ABS sensor. Talked to our back counter guy here at Toyot of Richardson and he indicated it might be the ABS sensor around $120-$150. If that turns out to be the issue drop me an email, I can get it for your for a good price.
