Question on Brembo rotors

I did a search and read that everyone has problems with rotors in a 4Runner. Are the Brembo 45 dollar ones from the tire rack any better? I know gadget has talked about slotted rotors on his web site, but has gone back to the disposable OEM rotors.

I have also read the cross-drilled tend to crack.

I had my OEm rotors turned about 3000k ago and they have warped and I want new ones.

Any suggestions? I mainly do street driving.

I suggest stock rotors and performance friction pads.

I just got brand new Toyota rotors, pads/shoes installed, and so far so good *knocks on wood*

My previous MX-6 had Brembo cross drilled rotors (front and rear) and performance pads, with steel brake lines that I thought were great... Until they warped within about 5,000 miles of driving (so what if I had to use them pretty hard at 130mph+?)

What are the price ranges for 94 SR5 4WD brake rotors???

How come I got a price quote for $175 A PIECE!!! for my 4Runner... Were they smoking crack when they quoted me? I just turned around and left when I got that price.. This was a parts store too!..

Brembo does not make a cross drilled rotor for the 3rd gen 4Runner. There are some out there but they are not cross drilled by Brembo and Brembo does not like the fact that others drill their rotor and try to pass it off as a Brembo drill job.

Anyway, I seem to go through the OEM Toyota rotors pretty quick and can warp them in short order. I had the same trouble on my F-150 and installed a set of Brembo rotors and they do not seem to be warping. I now have put two sets of pads on the Brembos and they still are not warped.

Hoping to have the same luck with the two 4Runners of mine, I put Brembos on them and so far so good. They are lasting longer then OEM.

I have no idea what is different about them. In fact to me they look identical, but some how they seem to hold up better. Lets hope it stays that way.

What about pads?

Also gadget do you know where you can set steel brake lines for a stock 01? You mentioned SMC, but their website is no longer up.

www.tirerack.com sells Brembo rotors, ceramic pads, and steel brake lines for most applications. I think their prices are pretty fair too.
