PS leak, and funky tranny?
3.4L 2001 Taco.
So I took my truck out today, and found out it has a bad powersteering leak (upgraded that from moderate in my other post). When you stop the truck it all comes out (if you look at the engine from outside its the left corner where the wheel is. Probably about a spot a foot wide! ><
Today when I stopped the truck it was smoking a little, and my best guess is either the PS pump is running dry, or the fluid is leaking out onto something hot, or a mix of the two.
What can I do about this? I am gonna put some stop leak in it, but I believe this job is just more than just a leak. For now is it okay to drive as long as I keep adding fluid??
Also, when I am on the freeway the truck will surge a little only sometimes going up hills or when I try and gun it. Could this be like a slipping transmission, or some bad U-joints? Again, I know it's hard to diagnose stuff over the net, but any information you could give me would be heavenly.
I am worried because I just bought the truck. Granted I got it for a steal pretty much, but I really need to get this fixed.

First off.... When did you get a Tacoma???? I've been away from YT for a while.
You should definitely consider finding that PS fluid leak, just to ensure you don't mess up the pump, if the pump itself isn't leaking.
As for the stumble, that could be anything from fuel filter, timing, or injectors being dirty, maybe even a vacuum leak.
