I just trimmed my valance tonight. I left the center part to cover the radiator and cut off the ends, which are usually the part that's banged up the most.

I might make one of these as a replacement tho: http://www.duffcoenterprises.com/ima...05toyfront.jpg

I had 12.50's and switched to 10.50's . I did the swap for these reasons:

Lighter, Cheaper, Less drag on the road.

Things I miss:

Wider footrpint in the sand, Wider look on the truck

Overall, I wouldn't switch back. I air down when I hit the sand now, soon I will have long travel which will push my tires out 3 inches (enough to make up for the 1 inch lost in track width. Honestly I think my poor 4 banger is happier not having to face all of that rolling resistance. And with the money I save, I bought a taco. Really money isn't that different.

Question Help with a lift

I've been looking through the forums and trying to find as much info as I can, but I have a question. I'm looking to put 33's on my '90 toyota extended cab, sr5, but I don't know how big of a lift to go with. I want it to be high enough so that I don't have any rub, but not too high. I can't really afford a suspension lift for my IFS, so I'm looking at a body lift. Should I go with a 3" lift or just a 2" ?

Any help would be appreciated.

you could do what i did - crank the torsion bars up in front a bit and add an extra leaf in the rear. it's cheap, but you do sacrifice ride comfort. i've been considering going back to stock height with 31s lately...

well, a body lift really isn't that expensive. It's only just over $100, and the difference between a two inch and a three is only like $10. I just don't know what height I should go with.

I will say 2" of lift, you can run 33x10.50 on a 89/90-95...

I have BJ Spacers, OME Coils, not rubbing issues with the 33s on stock rims.

I noticed something in that last photo though. Is there anyone out there who doesn't have a smashed up lower valence? We really need some sort of replacement for that which is a little stronger and doesn't require a new bumper.
Not to highjack the thread, but, try this.

would i be better off to get BJ Spacers, and just add a leaf in the back or something? what are the pros and cons... and do they affect the ride or flexibility or anything?

33x10.50x15 will fit on a stock 15x7 rim. As far as I know, no one makes a 33x10.50x16.

255/85/16 would be close, about 33x10, depending on how close the manufacturer is to the true measurement.

True, I think that most 255's are about 0.5" taller than the 33x10.50x15. If I remember it's about 33.3" versus 32.8".
