It takes a nice jump to get into my truck

 

I wish I could go that big, the wife and the dog would eat me alive though.

 

I have to actually lift my girlfriend into my truck, she has a bad knee and can't jump up into it

 

what sizes are both of those?

 

31"x10.5" POS A/T's and 34"x10.5" LTB's

 

Super Swamper Thornbirds come in this size, but I wouldn't touch those tires with a 10' pole.



33x10.50s should fit without any problems. 33x12.50s will probably require some trimming/hammering. I have 32x10.50 Super Swamper Radials on my '88 pickup with no lift at all. They measure less than a 1/2" shorter than a BFG 33x10.50.

 

Whats wrong with the Thornbirds?

 

I just have never heard anything good about Thornbirds at all. The few sets that I've actually seen in use offroad sucked. I guess it's just opinion, but I know it's a popular opinion.

 

unless your truck is show only, they suck in every aspect that a tire could possibly suck.

custom made by a local fabricator. i just got a rear bumper from him too. i'll have pics up in the next couple of days.

 

small tread voids and bias ply. don't do well on or off the road.

think of them as an a/t with huge side lugs. they're made mainly for the pavement pounder/1st time buyer crowd

I noticed something in that last photo though. Is there anyone out there who doesn't have a smashed up lower valence? We really need some sort of replacement for that which is a little stronger and doesn't require a new bumper.
