Cool Proper Introduction from a Newbe

Greetings All! Although I'm new to the forum, until recently I had a 93 Hilux 3.0L V6 that I just loved. The infamous headgasket blew and I decided it was time to buy a new one.

I live in Japan so I bought the Hilux SSR-G 3.4L V6, which I believe is the equivalent of the Limited model in the states. I get it from the dealer on February 7th.

Anyway, this seems like a pretty active board with lots of helpful responses. So Hello everyone and I hope I can contribute something to the board.

I find it interesting that they're still using the 3.4L V6 in the 2003's in Japan.

Oh yeah, welcome Woodbert

I think it has to do with the Kyoto Treaty and the enviromental regs. The V8 is definately not available.

I couldn't even get the factory hitch receiver available in the states and no one has one yet.

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome Woodbert-san. I believe you are the first member from Japan. Congrats on your new 4th gen Surf. Don't be suprised if you get emails asking for those kool Japan only parts. I have no idea why Toyota USA won't bring anything in...

Butnut-san,

Aloha,

hey bra, you da kine? I have alot of nisei friends here so I have a pretty strong local connection for a haole boy!

I tell ya man, I tried to get Toyota of Japan to get me the hitch receiver available on the stateside models and they might as well be from two seperate planets. If you can get me a 2 inch receiver hitch I'll send you all the Japanese parts you want. No one has one yet, American or Japanese and I'm stuck. Can't pull my Jet Ski without a hitch.

Anyways, thanks bra..

Welcome to the forum. Everyone here is a little bit crazy so you should fit right in. I am sure that you are the first member with a '03 Hilux. Do you have access to the TRD goodies like we do?

Yeah, they have an entire TRD package you can get when you order the truck that includes suspension, and exhaust along with some body mods. Quite a bit available.

Woodbert-

I sent you a private message about looking for a hitch. Drop me an email if you get a chance.

Thanks,
