my tire changer cost $40... you cannot by beadlocks for anywhere near that!.... i also don't know anyone who has gotten a ticket for it, doesn't mean it wont happen... jsut liek the poeple that run 1200 watt linears on their cbs, is it legal? nope, will they ever get caught? its possible, but why chance it ... however, i dont need beadlocks, and i dont have the $ to spend on it either.....

ok.... used it for real tonight, swapped out my balding 235s with some 50% tread left 31" muds i had in the backyard..... here is the report: the tire changer does its job, but its CRUDE.... had to use brute strength.... and luckily i used to work @ a tire place and have a little bit of technique and know how.... if someone with no experience wanted to try to use this thing, i would advise against it.... also its little footprint sucks... the whole thing tried to spin on me..... had to hold it down with my feet whiel trying to spin it..... i got both tires mounted.... but pretty much ended up just mounting them without the changer... the big ole bar that came with the changer was awesome though......
some people said that they had an idea about making a mount to mount it to a trailer hitch, this would be an AWESOME idea.... and once i get a hitch, i am going to do that.... that would make it A LOT easier to deal with....

I bolted mine to the concrete slab on my patio. Nice thing is I can move 360 degrees around it. I found that some real tire bead lube and a big brush make for easier mounting. I've done about a half dozen tires now, it does take a little pratice to get the hang of it, especially which way the end of the bar goes for mounting and demounting.
Also used it on my bead locks, while not 100% necessary, it does make life easier. Gets the wheel up in the air and very secure so you can wrestle the tire over the inner bead.
