"Plug and Play" HID kits

if you guys havent noticed there is a company doing a group buy in the classifieds for a p n p HID kit

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f109.../#post50634091

Anyways,

if i go with a kit like this am i going to have crazy glare like I have read so much about? If you read into the thread i asked about glare and the seller responded saying that I won't have any issues as long as I adjust my beam pattern.

Is this a bad idea?

Why bother with a group buy? Spend $20 and get a HID/halogen kit from here:

Mobile HID

I bought one from this guy. Nice kit. Evidently the ballasts are filled with epoxy and it comes with a wire harness to draw current directly from the battery.

If you're really cheap, I've seen $120 kits on Honda Tech.

I have no idea if they cause glare, I could care less if they do. I don't ever see my truck from the outside at night. All I know is I have a mediocre beam pattern and incredible amounts of bright white light. Good enough for me.

Use this link:

I want to pick up some OEM headlight housings and do a full swap to a BMW or Mercedes Bi-Xenon setup. Using HID bulbs w/ the stock reflectors is not recommended.

Why bother with bad results and glare from a plug and play kit, do a full retro using projectors.

It's not you that the glare is concerning, it's everyone else on the road that gets blinded by them.

I understand that. I live in Phoenix, land of dumbass drivers and illegals with no insurance. ANYTHING I can do to piss of other drivers is welcome since I don't drive like a blind retard as so many others do.

That certainly would be nice, but $400-600 (if you have someone do it for you) is a lot more than $170. I didn't expect miracles from my kit, and I'm content with what I paid and the results I got. Hell, a pair of Raybrig H4s was nearly $100, so I figured why not spend $70 more and get 3x the output.

I hope you don't cause an accident or worse get a small child ran over due to your thoughtlessness.

I certainly didn't ask for your approval, and I could care less what you think. And I don't see how I would get a child ran over or cause an accident. You act as if aftermarket HID kits are equivalent to installing 10 million candle power spot lights on the front end. Just because every other dickhead on here blows this out of proportion because they think these kits are the most dangerous parts you could own doesn't make it scientific.

Again, there are far more hazards to deal with on AZ roads than my headlights. If anything, they might actually help keep jackass drivers away from me.

I got a kit off ebay for $75 shipped and i love it. I would od it again for sure and plan on converting my off-road lights to HID sometime as well. If i was to do it again i would only change one thing, i would get bi-Xenon setup instead of the xenon/halogen setup i got. I wish i could have HID in both high and low instead of just high but it works great. Look at the link in my sig for a demo on how the lights work, and those pictures don't do it jusitce.

And you don't get any "more" glare then your stock lights. There is just brighter glare where it is.
