I am sure it looks cool, and I definetly give you props for creativity with the wood bed and all. But, I am on a T3 connection, and your site was loading at the pace of a 24BPS connection speed. Is something wrong? I couldnt wait for the pictures.

 

That's strange.
Its hosted on a free server, but when I look at it from home (DSL) it loads the images fairly quickly.
I also have it hosted on this popup enthralled site , but I recommend using a popup stopper while viewing it.

I'm waiting for verizon to finish their updates so they can return access to my webpage there (they are my DSL provider). Should be by the end of the week. (It's a personal use website, so it isn't given priority over anything else).

Those tires are horrible in snow
I'm looking at getting the bridgestone revo's with a 15" wheel for winter/trail use.
Who knows, maybe I'll like them so much I'll use them year round.
I haven't regeared yet, so I still have some options left for my 17" wheels too.
It's all still up in the air.
Too much to think about, not enough $$$ to play with

the big tires on! Ive got to do something with mine too, not
sure just what yet though For now I'll probably keep it stock
and enjoy it for what it is while I get the bed cleaned up,
I did put a nice thick coat of mothers wax on it and really
brought the paint back nice

I edited the origional post to include my verizon website when it came back up. The free web hosting thing is what was so slow evidently.

Ahh, a work in progress
So what's next? The wood bed should be more accoustically sound. Do I detect a line of subs in the future?
What about the engine? Turbo kit from LC Engineering?

 

Actually, plywood isn't that great of material for sub enclosures. It resonates too easily.
I do have a Polk Momo 10" behind the seat and Polk EX components for front and "rear", all powered by a MTX 5400. I'm set for tunes for now.
Anyway, my bed is used way too much to use it for subs.
As for the engine, I gotta keep it within reason for now because I have to stay within smog limits in MA, but I'd love to do the stroker LCE has with a weber 38 mated to it. I'd probably have problems with getting it passed though.
I'll have to wait for that until I move.
Still thinking on the best route to go for this current engine (and waiting for more $$$ to be saved).
Too many mods, too little $$$!

Looks good, get some big tires on it! What are you doing again, 29's? I really want some 30x9.5x15s, would they fit with a 3.5" lift + 1" body lift or some pounding?

 

I think 30's would work fine.
I'd definatly get the 4wd fenders for clearance when the front flexes (a bit)
The pic shows 27" tires, but I think I'll be going to 29's or 30's eventually.
Just need to figure out what gears to go with now

I have a 5spd, so I don't know what gears to go with. I would get 4.88s with an auto, but I believe you'd want less with the 5 spd? 4.56 seems a bit low, though...is there anything in the middle?

 

With a 5 speed and 30's I'd go 4.56 It'll give you good off-the-line power and not sacrifice your highway rpm's.
I think you're right, 4.88's with 30's and an auto is probably the way to go.
Basically, once we get the 2wd's in the same tire size as the 4wd's the same gear ratio - tire size "equation" applies. The main difference between the transmissions (besides the transfer case) is the 1st gear. Generally a lower gear (higher number) for the 4wd's to help get them moving.
As for other gear ratios, nothing in between them available for the toy's.

what is the model # for our 2wd trans? would it bolt up to the same things as the 4wd would?

 

The 5 speed I think is a W55 (4wd is a W56). Check your vin plate, dead center on your firewall above the engine. The second line will tell you your axle code (what gears you have), tranny code, and a couple other things.
Unfortunatly, from what I understand, we can't just add on a transfer case to the back of our 2wd's, I think there's a spline number difference or something. Also, the driveshafts are connected differently to the trannies as well.
You can, however, replace your tranny with a 4wd version (W56 w/ tcase) and it will bolt up to your motor, but you will have to change out your driveshaft too.
My auto tranny is an A43D, the 4wd version is an A430D - I think.
