p1126 code on 02 4runner

Hi, I've been a member here for a while. Lurking more than anything else. Last week had the 02 4runner in for its yearly inspection. Never had a problem with it. I had the belts replaced. My wife who is 8 months pregnant always drives it. It lost power on her.she shut it off waited, restarted and drove it home. Its throwing a p1126 code. I've read several threads on here with the same problem. I haven't seen anyone post definite fix. In one thread wabbit says its the A/C clutch. Any help would be appreciated.

Try doing a google search or your favorite search engine.

My 2000 Tacoma FSM does not even list that code.

I have and it comes up as magnetic clutch circuit. It looses throttle response. In one thread wabbit says its the AC clutch. I dont have a whole lot of money right now. My wife has about 3 weeks before she goes into labor. Can I just replace the clutch? No one has had this happen to them?

I don't know if you can replace just the clutch. I know on Hondas you can and their compressors are made by denso, same as ours. You can call the stealer and see if they sell the clutch separately. I believe they do.

It's NOT the AC clutch! It's part of the throttle-by-wire system. (Only '01-'02 4Runners have this.) See 2002 4Runner FSM below.

I was finally able to find a complete throttle body on ebay. I installing it and drove around for about 30 minutes. I tried gunned it and it hesitated for a second. It then took off. After maybe 15 seconds at 30mph it hesitated again and the same cel came back P1126. So I guess it wasnt the TPS!! Plugs and wires are fairly new, maybe 15,000 on them. I have taken extremly good care of this truck. Light 4wheeling, never beat on. I love this truck, but I'm at my wits end.
