OPERATION PHONE HOME - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Guys,
As many of you know, Joey (UKMyers), John (Lifer), and Robert (Rixham) are serving overseas in the military on our nation's behalf.
To show our appreciation for these guys, Bob, Chris and I have come up with a phone card fundraiser called "Operation: Phone Home" so these guys can call their friends and family on our dime. We've set a goal of $100.00 by May 5, 2003 to purchase a $30.00 phone cards for each of them.
This goal is very modest one, and I know we can all contribute to give these guys a little something for the huge contribution they've given to us and our country.
As an incentive, we're going to randomly choose 1 person to receive any of the 4 Yotatech hats as a prize.
The minimum contribution is $5.00 to be eligible.
That's less than what most of us spend on a sit down lunch!
Here's the link to the fundraiser:

Folks, I don't have to tell you the sacrifice these guys put in day in and day out so let's show these guys our appreciation today!
Thanks,

Good Lord!
The campaign has only been up for less than 1 hour and we've already received $30---enough for one card!
Guys, thanks so much and let's keep 'em coming!
I will post the contribution total and message at the end of each day.
Bob

DONE!!!! $100.00 COLLECTED!!!
Guys,
Stop the donations, we've reached $100.00!!!
In a few short hours since posting this fundraiser, we have collected $100.00. I think this is really a testament to the positive, supportive nature of the people on Yotatech. Man, I'm really stunned how fast we reached the goal!
Tomorrow morning, I will purchase the phone cards and run an Excel spreadsheet (random function) script to select the random prize winner. Soonafter, Joey, John and Robert will get their $30.00 virtual phone card.
The winner of the hat will be notified by Tuesday.
I have one more request for everyone who reads this thread:
Please reply with your words of support for these guys after my (this) post. I think it will be really great for these guys to read it.
GO USA!
Bob

Holy Cow....
I didn't think you would go live until Monday. I had every intention of donating, but I wasn't online most of the day with Easter stuff.
If you decide to do another round, I will definitely be in. Who knows, if you tore through the first $100 that fast, maybe we could get them a 2nd card!
In any case, I'd like to send my appreciation out to the guys for organizing this, to our overseas military members, and to the armed forces members everywhere!

Guys,
I dont know what to say..................THANK YOU!!!!!
I'm never at a loss for words, but when I first read this post I was speechless.
One of the 1st things I did was call the wife and tell her about what you guys were doing. My wife couldnt believe it, and also thought it was the greatest thing. Ive been in Korea for 8 months now (who knows how much longer) and my phone calls to the states are my main motivator.
I've been in the Army a long time and this has got to be one of the nicest things someone has done for me.
I have always told my soldiers to be proud of their country, and their service, and the military is appreciated by many, even though it might not be obvious all the time.
I'm definately going to print out this thread for all my soldiers to read.
I'm truely appreciative for the effort and support shown by everyone.
Thanks Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with with Lifer. WOW... that is all I can say. Being in Germany the last couple of months with all the Anti-War and Anti-Americanism going on it makes you think if what you are doing is really the right thing to do. Well after 12 years in I have to say ..YES it is. Now, with you guys ,and everyone else back home, supporting us we all know what we are doing is good. I have told all my buddies about Yotatech and whata great buch of guys they are. Now this is just more proof of that. Thank you all again so much. God Bless the U.S.A.
