OK so I'm a little slow. I just read the thread and donated before I read any further than the first post. I hope you can still use the money for something!!
To the guys in service,
Don't let the antiwar, punk protesters get to ya. We're all behind you and greatly appreciate the sacrifice made by you and your families. You've made us all sooo proud!! It's an honor to call myself a member of a group you are part of. Come home safe and soon!

Wanted to let you guys know that after some research to get ahold of At&T I was able to use the card numbers and get ahold of my parents and talk for a bit longer than I had been able to in the past. I really appreciate your help and efforts in this! Still no exact time on getting home but hopefully soon!

The winner of the random prize is...(drum roll please)....
1Runner!
Congrats, Todd!
For absolute transparency and disclosure of methodology in selecting the random winner, here is a screenshot:

Todd, please check out the Yotatech store, pick a hat, and email me or PM me your address.
Thanks!
Bob
Edit (4/23): forgive me for posting the last names of the contributors in Round 1. I apologize if any of you are being stalked by rabid anti-war protesters. My advice is if any one of them are performing a "Die In" on your driveway, just back up and plead ignorance

This is an awesome idea. Too bad I didn't notice this sticky until today. If there's a second round, count me in....Or, maybe just send them to the fellas and maybe have them just hand them out to some of their fellow soldiers that could use them.

Ok guys, due to the requests we see on this thread, we're going to officially open the fundraiser for another round.
We am going to raise the goal to $140 this time to accomodate a 4th card which will go to a very "deserving" Marine on Woodbert's base in Okinawa, Japan. Woodbert is a retired Marine who is working on a US Navy base.
The random prize still will be up for random selection. Tom, Nathan, Braden and David: you guys are eligible for the hat too.
As of today, Wednesday April 23, 2003, the contribution fund stands at $45 (Nathan, Braden, and David's contribution). Thus, we need to collect another $95.
We respectfully ask again if you are to donate, donate straight from your checking account and not via credit card. That way we do not have to get charged credit card fees. If decide to donate from your credit card account, we will graciously accept it too.
Once again, thanks for your overwhelming generosity and I'll update the page within the next hour.
Thanks!
Bob, Corey and Chris

ROUND TWO BEGINS!
The webpage has been updated:
http://www.4runners.org/misc/phonecard
Already Tom (Mertztr) has evened up his original $9 contribution to an even $20. Thus, we need to collect an additional $84.00.
Keep it coming, guys!
Thanks for all your generosity and support,
Bob, Corey and Chris
