No speedo!!! Please help

No speedo!!! Please help

so i built my runner sence the full widths i have no speedo beacuse the speedo worked off the abs sensors i belive. mt check engine light is on so i cant get it to pass imissions. what can i do??? thanks!!! o its a 99 sr5 sport

so what do you think about if i buy a new 14 bolt with abs and wire the 14 bolt sensrs to mine?

The VSS is usually screwed into the back of the transfer case, at least that is the way it was up though '95.

on some but not mine. hunt4steve.com explains how to fix it but i dont really get how to do all of it and it looks super complicated.

i just want my speedo to work. i wanna see her hit the 300,000 mile mark! ive already put like 200-400 miles on it without a speedo

Take the bulb out of the dash for the CEL light and get it smogged.

Ummmm, no. You still have a code in the ECU, so it will not pass if you just take the bulb out. You have to find out what the code is, fix the problem and drive the truck so it can set the readiness monitors. THEN go and get your emissions.

Do they hook up to the diagnostic port for emmisions in Utah? Some states are more lenient than others, but yeah you're probably right. I was thinking maybe the tech just saw the light on and failed it.
