No Optima battery for my runner ?

I checked the Optima web site .They do not list a battery for my 4runner . What one are you guys using and where did you purchase it ?

I`m going to Niagra Falls next week so I need a National chain where to buy it .

they only have a couple of sizes i beleive.. they do not fir the regular battery hold down that why none is listed for your truck. costco has them for $100 they will fit your truck with an adapter that is normally included nowadays...

Yea, that's what I have, the small one with the addapter on the bottom. Fits perfectly.

I use an optima red 800u dual terminal. I believe that is the most common application for offroaders. It requires a spacer (free from optima) to fit properly in my runner. I don't see why it wouldn't work in your rig. The optima reds at Costco are not of the same quality as the 800u, they don't have as many cold cranking amps.

So I guess I should avoid the Optimas at Costco ?

its not that they are a bad product jsut not the 800u .... i used to have a yellow top optima and never had a problem with it, i bought it somewhere off the internet like $170 to my door, but that was maybe 4-5 years ago, the price of them has drastically come down since then

Not necessarily. If you plan on putting a winch and/or lights on your rig, you might want to go with a more powerful optima. The optimas I saw at costco put out around 700-750 cca. And they would be fine for stock rig. My 800u puts out 800cca and 980 ca. More power is essential for running a winch.

Optima 34R is the one that is made for Toyotas.

I have the 75/35 from Costoc 770 CCA. I needed a 10" extension for the + Red battery cable and the - Black stretched to fit. Make sure the battery comes with the red spacer (included on top of the battery)

I put in a R34 last year when my stock one failed here a pic, and yes you want to get the spacer for it so it will fit nicely in the 4Runner spot atleast.
Poke thru the album on the link it shows the spacer and the battery installed.

Oh forgot to mention the R denotes the terminals (+,-) being revered which we need.

for the cdn guys, walmart has them, both sizes. for the price difference at costco, get the biggest one at walmart. its the same price as the lower cca one available at costco. the spacer is included with the battery, it is clipped on the top covering the terminals, you just unclip it and reclip to the bottom of the battery, set it in place, secure it and make the connections.
