tacoma or truck?

hey guys, im looking for a new daily driver/ weekend offroader im decided on the truck but i dont know to look for a pre 95 truck or a tacoma. i know the older trucks have a little less power but ive heard a lot about the 22re's bulletproofness and ease to work on. so, opinions?

the 22re is awesome very easy to work on... never really heard of too many probs with the taco though..... except the ehad gaskets, but all engines are subjected to that.. i personally would rahter have tbars then struts

the pre95 trucks if it's gonna be an off-roader (better frame, easier to SAS, easier/cheaper to 2x-tcase, etc)
The taco looks nice tho , engine is good too, but the frame or anything else isn't as strong, as the pre95's are built to 1 ton standards while the taco's are built to 1/2 ton standards.

I'd go pre 95 if you dont care about horsepower (of the 3.4).

it does make a difference.... where you live plays a big part in the market and pricing of vehicles

if nobody is selling jsut hold off if you can, a good deal will come your way... if you buy something you are not happy with you will regret it later... especially since the way things work out is you buy a 2nd choice and a week later is the truck of your dreams..... 4runners normally sell for a lot higher than a comparable pickup

keep looking...you'll find something. i'd go with an earlier pickup, they're very capable in stock form and well built.
