Newbie ? 97 4runner/upgrades/problems

Here is a question for all of you super techs out there.First of all I did some research first..searched the forums and so on. here it goes

Picked up a 1997 4 runner limited Love the truck just a few issues.
Had it tuned up:plugs, wires, air filter then decided to have the timing belt changed, tension arms, water pump, new coolant,thermostat...around $1000.00 for all of this. This stopped the hesitation.
Had it inspected failed for a gas cap, replaced that.
Well was driving around 50mph when the truck started to jerk a bit after giving it some gas,it stopped and did this several times more over the course of a few days was raining everday when this happened not sure if this affects this..no engine lights came on...asked mechanic he mentioned maybe dirty injector,I mentioned to him what about the oxygen sensors both of them he said probably not because the engine light did not come on

Here is my question can this be the oxygen sensor or possibly dirty injectors?or none of the above? if it is possibly the injectors will over the counter cleaners work or is service required?

Now for the upgrades Drive this truck primarily on the road thinking of improving the ride if possible...From reading some articles sounds like bilstein shocks and some type of sway bars?

Bilstein shocks and Addco swaybars will probably be what you are looking for.

For your hesitation problems, you may want to try installing a new fuel filter.

Wow...nice write-up Ryan. I'm going to have to do this as part of my "spring cleaning".
