Newbie

Hi all great board.
About my Toy -
1988 Toyota Extra Cab 22rec
107k miles
A little rust
Have known ever owner since it came off the show room floor at dealership.

Basic maintenance – Plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, brakes all 4, shocks all 4, new exhaust system, New timing chain, water pump, oil pump, head pressure checked and milled,New head gasket, new clutch, clutch master and slave cylinders, and alternator.

Future mods – Header, coil, fuel injectors, K&N air filter, 8.5mm plug wires, cam, new ring & pinion, Flow master muffler, MSD ignition.

Heres my Question. I have searched the board for a week now and I didn't find anything on doing the Ignition upgrade do you keep the igniter your is it not needed when you go to the MSD ignition.

Thanks
Jeff

Hey thanks but I already saw that thread and it dosent say anything about the igniter being used or not being used when you upgrade your ignition system.

When you say "igniter", I assume you mean coil, right?

No I'm talking about the igniter that sets on top of the coil.

There is nothing there.

Click "quote" on my picture message to you, and that will bring up the VB code in my message, for your response page. You can then see how its coded, and post a pic.

Welcome

Welcome to the boards.

I still have the stock ignition on my 4R, so I can't help ya. I had a Jacob's on my 87 Celica GTS and I didn't notice any improvement. Just my .02.

These characters will help you out....
