New truck

As some of you know, my current truck is dead. I've been looking at several local trucks, and was hoping folks could give me information/opinions on the choices, as well as vote for their choice. Both are the same price, and the only other factor in my decision would be the ability to swap some parts over from my 90 to the 94 if I decide to scrap the 90. This would be a daily driver and moderate off road rig. Thanks for your time.

is the tacoma a 4x4? if so, that'd be my pick. anything with an auto tranny generally makes me turn and run.

Get a 96 4x4 if you can afford it.

Sorry,
Both are 4x4, just forgot to add it to the description. Maybe one of the mods will see this and add it for me, or hopefully people will read down this far before voting.

Swap out the tranny to the 94 from your 90, if it's manual.

I voted for the 96 Toy because the 4cyl 2.7 is more reliable and less maintenance than the 3.0. And fuel economy is also better for the '96.

For mods the 96 offers a more roomy engine bay to put stuff in.
Headers, Amsoil deck plate, compressor or what ever you want.

If I were a betting man, I would bet that the 2.7 with a stick felt stronger than the 3.0 with the auto.

I have the auto to 3.0 connection and it gets by, certainly not a giant slayer though.

Always go for the Taco!

I voted for the 1994 because it is screwed together better (IMHO) and has better seats. Also, I like the design better. Our 2004 Tacoma just isn't the same as I remember our 1993 ExtraCab.

My dream - 1993-4 Xtra cab with 2004 3.4 V6.

Good luck with your purchase.

I would agree ! its a 4x4 and you will burn less gas more than likely.
