Installed an entry level remote start system that only has on and off, no door unlock buttons. I figured I could just use my OEM keyless entry fob. Well the old fob still works when the 4runner isn't on, but won't unlock the doors after I've remotely started it. Is there anything I can do to change this?

 

Probably because a factory system won't work when the vehicle is running. Simplest way is going to be to upgrade to a full featured system

 

Yeah, I kinda figured that.
I'm not going to do that. If I wanted the model w/ door lock buttons I would have paid the extra $90 for it.

 

well then sounds like u are SOL unless u can figure out how to rewire the factory system
