New Leather and sound deadening in...but....Pics

When the rear seat is set up, there's a gap between the seat and the back. I didn't see an adjustment, but I may be myopic. Any ideas?

You'll get pics, but you'll have to wait until I can either get the school camera or get Sam's to develop and digitize a roll.

Good thing I finished it today, school year starts for me tomorrow. Great way to finish the summer....in the garage, working on the 4Runner, stereo CRANKIN'.

Here are the pics. First 6 are just the new leather, last one is the gap. Excuse the pics...the sun was low and I cleaned up the shadows quite a bit.

Thanks!

I got it off of Ebay about 18 months ago for $170. The seller said they were "toyota factory" kits, but the detailing inside was better that the Toy leather I took off. These didn't have some of the die-cuts for headrests, latches, and knobs though.

The tools cost me $100. I did the front seats myself earlier this summer. Each one took me about 4 hours. I started the back seats, but school was getting ready to start. So I took them to an upholsterer who did some of our furniture last year. He charged me $50 and it took him about 2-3 hours.

Anyone want to buy some hog-ring pliers and a stretcher?

Pics of the hog ring pliers and the stretcher? I have a pretty good stretcher, but I could use a set of hog ring pliers...

Leather looks great BTW...

Looks really good Joel. Have no clue about that gap as I have cloth but it does seem pretty wide compared to what my seats look like

I might, I am going to re-do the leather on my Celica. What do they look like and how much do they cost?

Yours looks great, it finally inspired me to get mine done too. I
just ordered the kit from autooleathers.com. Its katzskin leather with Brown outside, black center inserts (perforated), and black on the doors, with black pipping. They had a deal for $1200 installed. I bought a kit off of ebay a little over a year ago, and it cracked. So I'm kinda pissed about replacing the leather again .. but hopefully this time it will work out better, especially with the warranty.

Here's the hog-ring pliers and the stretcher. I bought both the straight & the bent pliers just in case, but I only used the straight pair. All the tools came from Eastwood Company and are heavy forged quality. Not at all like the cheap ones Dad & I used back in the 70's. They were $23 apiece. Make me a decent offer and I'll take care of the shipping.
