New hoods?

do they make any other hoods for the 2nd gen 4runner ive never seen another besides those fake little scoops you can glue on. And is it possible to put a 3rd gen hood scoop hood on a second gen.

I was seriously looking into purchasing the $70 eclipse hood scoop kit to go on my 2nd gen.. I was at the performance shop ready to buy and I was warned that its not worth it. They do not stay bonded to the hood and fall off. I still really want them but do not want the hassle.

Hoods

It is possible to replace or swap the hoods on the two. I am waiting for another totaled 4-Runner to hit our body shop that I can snag on off of for free.

Fabtech

I'm pretty sure fabtech makes a fiberglass hood in a couple of configurations including a cowl hood (sorta like the SS hood on the chevys).
Here's the info:

\\: 1989-1995 Toyota Truck
FTF2052 89-95 Toyota Hood OEM Replacement [22]
FTF2054 89-95 Toyota Hood Ivan Stewart Style "A" [22]
FTF2054-1 89-95 Toyota Hood Ivan Stewart Style "A"
W/ Cowl Section [22]
FTF2055 89-95 Toyota Hood Ivan Stewart Style "A"
w/ Hinge Mounts [20]
FTF2056 89-95 Toyota Hood OEM Replacement
w/ Hinge Mounts [20]

Here's the page:

I think they're close to 3 bills though. I'll stick w/ modding a stock hood.

You could get an old hood from a junkyard and do what this guy did.
I scanned this from a minitruckin magazine.

My 1st thought after seeing that pic was that the Fresh Prince of Belair drives that rig or maybe its DJ Jazzy Jeffs rig.

Yeah I'm not too big on the way it was painted. Especially since the other side of it is that one color blue with no contrast, it even crosses over into the interior. It doesn't look very good at all the way it was done. If it was done in a different color and not so wild of a paint scheme with something like a tweed interior it would look good. But then again all I want is the hood. And the top dash piece because he molded 3 gauges into the dash above the glovebox.
