Need some help..keyless access

Does anyone happen to know anything about setting the keyless access control? I managed to lose mine..and i have an extra..however the extra doesn't seem to be set. It isn't due to lack of batteries..b/c i've covered that department...It just appears to not be set to my car..if that makes sense. Anyone know anything about how i should go about getting it set?

The manual doesn't even mention the keyless access control as far as i could see..

Thanks Beav...
Here is another pic I had on my PC.
It's from Bob.

Though I think it's just for the volume on the remote.

Thanks guys..but my 4runner is a 97...so will any of these instructions still apply? The control only has 2 buttons..and no words are printed on it..the top one is used to both lock and unlock the doors...and the bottom one doesn't seem to do anything (lol)..but in any event..i'll try to mess around with it. But any extra comments that may be helpful..please feel free to let me know.

the second button is for adding another toyota car to your one remote... because if you buy one you MUST have two right?? I was hoping it would be something cool like a rear window up/down button, but no such luck.

Try putting the key into the little slot shaped hole near the door handle and TURN the key, there is a chance that might just lock it

I have the same problem with my '96. I tried the programing sequence more than once but it did'nt work

Any one got another sequence or are just brain dead

NJ...the only problem is..which i forgot to mention...for whatever the reason, when i lock the car manually and then use the key..the friggin' alarm goes off..so it's a pain in the a$$..i have no idea why it does that...but it never was a problem b/c i always just used the remote...nowww w/o the remote..i'm in a bind..i either have to lock it manually and look stupid as i sit in the parking lot w/ my alarm going off..orrr just leave it unlocked.

If i can't figure out how to set it..i'll just have to order a new one...b/c they come with instructions on how to program them. I also tried emailing a bunch of companies who sell the remote...claiming i was a customer and didn't receive the instructions..we'll see how that works. hahah...

Programming Factory Keyless Remote

I found this on another forum...

"This is very simple to do. First you must locate the brain for the alarm. On my moms 98 it is under the drivers seat. If you look on the side you will see a tiny green button. Use and ink pen to push it in and watch the indicator LED on the console. When it turns on (or starts to flash, can't remember which) after 3-5 seconds, simply press the top button on all remotes he wants to control that vehicle. That is it. He must press the buttons on the remotes fairly quickly though, and the key must be in the ON position for this to work."

I'm not sure if it works yet (I still need to program one also), but it's worth a try.

I emailed a bunch of sites that sell the remote...most of the places were stupid about it either a) recommending just going to a local dealer (not a bad idea)..or b)saying if i didn't purchase mine from them..it was a 30 dollar fee. However one place did send me instructions..and they r somewhat similar to what you found ..they are as follows:

Fujitsu – Toyota or Isuzu

Transmitter Programming:

Insert key into ignition switch, and turn it to ON.
Press and hold the E.C.M’s programming switch for 2-3 seconds. The status indicator LED turns on for 5 seconds. (this module is generally located underneath the drivers seat).

Note: You MUST perform the next step within 5 second

Press and release a remote control’s top button. The status indicator LED turns off, the buzzer chirps once. The front marker lights and parking lights flash once.
Turn the ignition switch to OFF then back to ON.
Press and hold the E.C.M.’s programming switch for 4 or more seconds. The status indicator LED flashes for 5 seconds.

Note: You MUST perform the next step within 5 seconds.

Press and release a remote control’s bottom button. The status indicator LED turns off. The buzzer chirps twice. The front marker lights and parking lights flash twice.

The first steps are just as you posted...however i followed these instructions absolutely perfectly..and all it did was allow my remote to the set the friggin' alarm off..not cool..

I tried it over and over..making sure it was done correctly..but to no avail..
