Need a new muffler

i have a 1997 4runner, V6 2wd. I noticed today that there is a hole in my muffler(cherry bomb). I'm looking for something close to stock noise wise and something relatively cheap.

I have been looking at the Edelbrock mufflers. I list of projects happenings so you will probably get yours on before i am able to finish up my truck.

It is the ones that is sort of like a flowmaster--but not as loud

How long have you had your Vortex?

It's not like you live in a place that salt's their roads. I'm supprised there is a hole in it.

Wow, that was a fast rust through.

That Flowmaster 60 looks nice but it seems so expensive to just replace the muffler. For a hundred more bucks a shop could do a whole mandrel exhaust.

i want exhaust too...but I need to find something that vents the exhaust in the same direction as the stock exhaust. My cousin had magnaflow exhaust....sounded awesome....but with the back window down and the straight pipe out the back...the exhaust just came back in the vehicle...i'm guessing that's why Toyota has the tip off the side.....i'm sure Toyota put the 4Runner in a wind-tunnel to see which way the exhaust got vented away from the vehicle! I think i'm getting the TRD exhaust....doesn't matter that they they tend rust out in cold climate's that use salt on the roads...Toyota warranty will cover me!

my exhaust exit the same place as stock as i reused the pipes and put a nice 3'' tip on which i had them sit it back like 2'' since i hate people that put a nice exhaust tip on and it sticks out
