Found an 81 toy 4x4 long bed solid little truck runs good just want move I think it is a transmission problem. What would you pay for this?

tranny re build is gonna run you about 7-800 for a shop... if you do it maybe it's 2-250. 81-83 have troublsome 5 gear trannys, invest in a g52 or w56. If it's fairly clean and has a good running 22r I would pay 5-1200 pending on condition and mods.

 

Exact thing happened to me. Best bet is to either find a tranny at a wrecker/swap meet, etc or put a four speed in. But if you go the four speed way, you'll have to do some floorboard cutting and put an aftermarket shift boot in like one from HURST.
