My new $4 Home Depot mesh grille...check it out!

So after seeing everyones new mesh grilles, i decided to try it out since they seem pretty simple to make. Here is the before:

and after.

Eventually the chrome will be painted to match the body.

Should i go with the mesh OR get a lower billet grille and paint the upper & lower black...anyone done this?

Holy rims batman!
What size are those babies?

And back on topic, my friend did the same thing for his 95 Golf. I am actually surprised at how good they look for how cheap they are.

those might be the best bling rims i've ever seen on a 3rd gen, once that trim gets painted to match you'll be set

the grill looks great, the lower bumper mesh didn't look as fluid but i think the billet insert there would be nice, good job on the rig man

I haven't decided to either have Jason order me a bumper from Japan:

OR do the TRD tacoma bumper like juzwick's Tacoma w/ 4Runner front end.

OR just try something crazy!

haven't decided...

I dunno man, I'm not really feelin any of those. If I were you, I'd go with the bumper Jason has on his 4Runner, that is by far the cleanest looking one. Most of the Japan bumpers are crazy and just look plain dumb IMO.. lol

I like the "before" better. Mesh grills, to me, are so rice. I guess it goes back to my Honda days when I used to bag on people with mesh grills and neon wiper squirters.

is that gutter guard? that's what i used on my satoshi and it looks pretty good and fit the '98 style grille just fine with one piece.

and, i think i like the clean look of the Burtman Industries lower valence the best out of the options you had. i almost got a Performance Products lower valence with the driving lights a couple years ago, but then the off road bug hit me and i think i'll get a TJM or ARB up front and i don't want to spend the money on the factory bumper now.

clean looking runna!

Hell yeah on the Home depot grill!! That's what i used for my Satoshi too, it's been holding up great even thru mud, I just blacked them out with etching primer and black rustoleum style rattle can.

Clean looking rig and yeah those rims are bling!

it's metal, maybe even aluminum, i can't remember. it was cheap, had the diamond look to it, was the right size, and you can bend it around the edge of the grille opening and it still remains somewhat rigid. seems like the right product for the job.

I used that same type of mesh to make some rock guards for my headlights for trail runs.
