I don't know if anyone else is reading this and finding some errors... I just know what it is for two states and its not what is posted, and I was told by police officers in these two states.

For Texas, for SUVs (cause cars are different. Anything on a truck platform is not a car and therefore different)
You can tint the front windows (not windshield) 20%. All other windows (rear pass, trunk side windows and back window) can be tinted any degree. Painted black if you want to.
For Pennsylvania, for SUVs.
You can tint the front side windows to where it is still visible from outside (the law states this very ambiguously) and it is said that the limit is around 30%. Then trucks can have anything to any other window except the windshield which cannot be tinted.

I remember looking online and finding tons of errors because the laws change constantly so just check to see if you typed it out wrong, if not then these are the right degrees of tint for these two states.

People will always be misinformed. just in case im getting critized, its best to call your local DMV or Highway Patrol office to find what the legalities are, all SUV's, Trucks, and mini vans come tinted from factory at 15%-25% depending every vehicle is different.

Actually they do know how to tint down here....lol

The best route is to call your local DMV or the next time you get pulled over, ask the cop. Only do the latter if you don't already have tint, otherwise you might snag a few more tickets...lol

So I guess my limo 5% all the way around would be frowned upon....lol

Last I heard, Oklahoma lifted their tint laws a few years back. Something about the tester(s) not being consistent enough to hold up in court. I have 10% all the way around (even a 6" brow on the windshield) and have never been hassled bout it. In fact, as soon as they lifted the laws (it wasn't made public knowledge media wise) all the cops got solid mirror tint all the way 'round on thier cars.

My brother is the head of Code Enforcment for the City of Midwest City, OK (the city that surrounds Tinker AFB, where the AWACS are based out of) and that's where I got my info. Granted it's second hand, but it's coming from a head code enforcement officer.
