Looking to buy lift kit for 98 4runner

Hello,

n00b here. Picking up my new(to me) '98 4runner SR5 4wd tomorrow and I would like to put a lift kit on it. I'd like the height to raise about 2-3 inches.

I will use the 4runner for light offroading and playing around in the mud, nothing serious. I am looking to spend under a grand.

Can someone please tell me the best kit to buy, what I should expect to pay and any other things I will need to purchase with it. I'd prefer to support the board sponsors if any of the are selling what I need.

Thanks in advance.

I look forward to being a regular here!

I'm selling a 2" rear Cornfed Suspension lift for $80 (w/ shipping included).. It's in perfect condition and ready to ship. It will fit 96-02 4runners. For light offroading and playin in the mud.. this is all you need. It will clear 285/75/16's fine. Let me know if you're interested or have any ?'s.

Someone on the board probably has a 2" front Cornfed lift or one can be purchased at www.cornfedsuspension.com

This is a great lift if you ever decide to go back to stock ( in the event that you want to sell your truck, you'll be glad you have all your stock springs and coils still on it ).

Check out OME springs and shocks and/or Cornfed spacers - probably your best options for the money.

If you want a 1.5" lift as a "kit", then THIS is your best bet...
Complete Old Man Emu Lift = $632 (wheelers)
http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/ometoy.htm

If you want something better and 2.25" of lift (OME guys are changing over to this setup)...

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...8&page=1&pp=25

Pair Front Tundra 4WD Coils = $120 (online dealer)
Pair Front 3/8" Top Spacer = $37 (me)
Set Front Extended Top Plate Studs = $13 (wheelers)
Pair Old Man Emu N91s Struts = $212 (wheelers)
(Total = $382)

Pair Downey Rear 3.5"/2.5" Coils 48296-3 = $260
(or OME 891 Rear Springs = $135/pair)
Pair OEM Conical Bumpstops = (FREE)
Pair Old Man Emu N86 Shocks = $150
(Total = $410 for Downey and $285 for OME)

What about Toyteclifts.com they seem like there a pretty good deal. I bought mine from there and it seems like i paid a ton less than most I've seen for OME lifts 3"er.
