Interior Trim

Where's a good place to get the brushed aluminum trim found on the sport package of newer 4runners?

Home depot:

It's not a real brushed aluminum, it's spray paint. A real brushed aluminum kit can be found all over the web. Including Jason Burtman's website.

By the way, is it just me or does anyone else like the look of the spray painted metallic dash? I kinda like it just the way it is.

My 2K2 Sport Edition came with the silver dash, and I like it much better than the black or wood grain.

Hey Jason, I was wondering if you ever heard of the core exchange program, where you send in any piece you would like covered and the company will send it back to you covered in your choice of brushed aluminum, carbon fiber, etc. Its not a decal/kit but actually hand laid over the dash pieces that you send to them. I was wondering if you have had a chance to evaluate it and what your impressions were.

Thanks

That can't be done unfortunately. There are only a few places that do hand laid carbon and it's VERY EXPENSIVE. These places mainly do outer shell bodies for the race track but could do custom pieces for a small fortune.

If you want custom carbon fiber, you may want to try this site:

There is a place online that will custom coat any of these coatings, on anything you wish to send in to them.

and there is 7 total different trim available for coating.

You can literally have any piece in your vehicle custom coated in the above trims... door shells, windows(hehehe couldn't see too much) Just send them any piece you want done and they will send it back in any of the above coatings.

Company Hoopla:

Custom Coating provides:

Factory Fit & Feel !
Smooth, Sealed, High Quality Finish !
No raised ridges or edges (your OEM equipment is coated, just like the factory does)
You are no longer limited to only the pieces kits offer!
Your imagination is your limit !

I think it's a new thing, but as of yet I have not checked prices.

I'm sure it's not cheap, but real carbon fiber and wood dash kits are expensive too.

If the quality is good though and the price is in the same neighborhood, I would prefer a custom coated one over a decal kit any day though.

But your right, I haven't called to see what the cost is, so it could be really expensive!

Jason, maybe you can check it out for us
