If I may introduce myself ...

I have been perusing Ya'll's MB off-n-on for quite some time and finally decided to take more advantage of all the experience and brain power I see here! And hopefully contribute some of my experiences from owning 8 Toyos over the last 30yrs.

The project is my '88 4Runner, 3.0/5spd, stock, 150Kmi., runs fine. It's now a daily driver, some highway miles, boat puller, seasonal hunting trails, here in LA . . . Lower Alabama!

I have ~2½, 3.4L/24valve engine parts-n-pieces (enough to build a complete engine w/ECU, harness, etc.). One's got a hole in the block, one's got a wrist pin tick. I have been collecting these engine/parts over the last few months, none have been to the machine shop, yet.

My goal is to build the 3.4 to ~200+hp AND tuned for 20+mpg/highway.

See Ya on the boards,
1Owner

Welcome to the board !! Your experience will surely come in handy as there are quite a few early models running around here.

200hp isn't much work from a 3.4, considering they have about 190 or so stock

Welcome. Keep us posted on what you try power wise. You might try a full port and polish and see what that adds for power.
