Just wanted to throw this up on here. 3.4 V6 4Runner, the thing is just a pig when you give it gas and when vehicle is under a load. If I take it "easy" on the throttle its okay. This sound familar to anyone? This weekend im gonna do some plugs and a fuel filter (they are due) also shocks (if I can afford em) I hate doin maintenance, time to buy a horse.

ive got a 2002 4runner and its a pig also but what can you say. its heavier than a truck and not a sports car so i just deal with it. a tune up might help it has always helped me.

No, definatley decrease in performance, it sounds like its missing possibly. The thing is pretty peppy (used to be anyway) for an SUV.

Timing belts dont wear out noticeably-they break.

You need a tune up..

i've had my '98 V6 4runner for over four years now and it's always been a pooch. sometimes i'll mash on the accelerator and it'll rev up and go fast but that's not too often. i drove a '99 limited that as far as i could tell was stock and with a tap of the pedal it would burn rubber every time, i can't explain it. that's the only other 4runner i've driven besides mine so i don't have a lot to compare with. i've put new plugs, wires, air filter, cleaned the MAF and throttle body, new fuel filter, cat back exhaust, airaid intake, fuel injection cleaner every 3 months, sythetic fluids, deck plate mod... and nothing! still feels pretty much the same as when i got it stock.
but as was said above, i know it's not a sports car and i drive like a grandma anyway so it's not a big deal, but i would like to have some fun once in awhile

I drove a 2wd Limited the other day and it hauled ass compared to mine. I wonder if it has to do with the gearing since mine is 4x4.
