Hood Latch -HELP PLEASe

I tired opening my hood a few days ago. The Latch inside the truck was super hard to pull. It would not release. I tried helping the hood and pulling and still nothing would happen. After a while, I went ahead and pulled until I stretched the cable, hood still locked in. Is there anyway to get this thing open? We have tried everything. Pulled on the cable with pliers, I mean just about anything. Any sugstions. The Stealer wants 125 just to figure out what the proble is.

Thanks in advance.

Try it again while someone pushes down on the hood, taking some pressure of the catch. Otherwise take off the front grill and unbolt the latch from the truck.

After you get it open you should probably replace the cable. And lube the latch.

Try removing the corner lamps if you can and start from there.

That's a tough one.

If he's talking about his 02 Tacoma - the corner lights need to be unscrewed from within the engine bay to get them out.

If I remember correctly you *might* be able to get the grill off by going at it from underneath. The mounting bracket have tabs underneath that will release the grill. You should be able to get a good look at it from underneath.
