I can't wait till she goes back to work in 5 years, I will be a spending fool.
what do you have that's busted that needs replacing? maybe somebody here might have stuff they pulled off and upgraded and they'd let you have it. I know if I've got anything you need that's I have just sitting around I'd send it your way. make a wish list dude.

I don't lie or put my 4runner before my family commitments. I make sure the mortgage, retirement funds, and related monthly bills are paid in full. I've made it quite clear I want a 4runner for off-road use and one that, quite frankly, looks cool when you see it coming down the road.

I don't complain about her shopping purchases and she dosen't complain about mine.

Mad Chemist said it better then it can:
I spend money on the things that I enjoy, and am cheap on the things that I don't need as much- ie. trendy clothes, going out and spending a ton of money on booze, clubs, etc.

I have a hard time modding any of my vehicles due to my wife's attitude on the matter. She's not nasty about it, but she is of the philosophy of "Stock is good enough" . I actually was able to put a (cheap) CD player in one of the cars last month, and I bought an amp last week (for dirt cheap), and I think she was a bit unhappy about it. But, I bought her a watch at the same time, so she isnt too upset

But whenever I do spend money, she feels she should too.
I have a little bit of a hard time with her spending money though. She works part time, and doesnt make much, and she then wants to spend like $50 - $100 per week on clothes I know she will wear 4 or 5 times, then decide she looks fat in them, and stop wearing them.

What do I do? I dont know.

1st, take the skirt off and put it on her, then put the pants you took off of her back on you. then, let her spend 50-100 a week and keep a tab. when you get to a certain total that something costs, pull out the tab and hand it to her. then she should just nod and say, "whatever you want honey." if she doesn't start agreeing with you, than you need to make it clear that the clothes she has are good enough, just like the stick vehicle. she'll come around. good luck. other option, sell crack and money won't be an issue anymore, this is a joke of course.

My wife lets me do what I want, when I want, how I want. As long as its exactly what she wants.......
Actually, I'm a lucky guy. At least, thats what she tells me to say.

I feel your pain.

Keisur,
The exhaust manifold has a crack in it ( has for about 2 yrs. now), I was finnaly able to get enough money for a new one (working a 3rd side project), when we found out that she is due again. Any money that I had is now going to house & baby stuff. I am trying to get $35.00 out of her so I can send it to Toyota Parts Dude for a old manifold he has. Thanks for the concern, it is people like you that keep me addicted to this board.

I really don't know whether it would stand up to the heat but, since it is cracked anyway, have you thought about maybe trying JB Weld or something to just TEMPORARILY patch the crack? I have never used the stuff but I saw some stuff at homo depot the other day that can be drilled, tapped, milled, etc. can't remember if that was jb weld or liquid steel or one of those proucts. maybe one of the dudes here can tell you whether it could withstand the temperature. I figure it's worth a try since it can't hurt anything. good luck with the cash collection.

that's the understanding my wife and I have. so long as we don't screw up our credit or lose the house or something minor like that.

Classic!

Although I don't have that level of issues, I think tracking a tab is a great idea. I know a few different guys that do just that; their wives spend on a regular basis, but the guys save up for something. It all works out!
