I believe they go at the bottom of the leaf pack, so A would be my choice. But I might add I have seen some that go on top too, so Im not 100% sure. Did you see how they were installed on your friends truck? Check the length of your current u-bolts and see if they are long enough to accommodate the helper leafs. I would think you probably need some longer u-bolts.

Yeah. They go on the bottom of the leaf pack - so A. Be sure to check the U bolts a couple of times after driving around to make sure they're tight.

how much threads should be beyond the nuts on the u-bolts? the addaleaf is exactly the same width of the threads that are left on the ubolt from the stocks...

Usually you want the AAL between the stock overload leaf and the rest of the leaves, or in place of the stock overload leaf. Reason being that the stock overload leaf is very thick and very stiff and very flat. Put the AAL under it and the two leaves fight each other, the thicker/stiffer one wins. Ideally you want at least one thread beyond the nut on the u-bolts.

Yes, the big thick leaf on the bottom is the overload leaf. It generally will not bend, that is it's whole purpose in life, to keep the rest of the springs fropm bending backwards too far if you overload the truck too much. I have some tips on installing add-a-leaves on my web page:
