Help! Stripped Torx screw (steering wheel removal '98)
Hi, I am attempting to replace the steering wheel on my '98 4runner with a new one I bought off eBay. Same situation as in this thread:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/s...4runner-89437/
However, when attempting to remove the torx screw on the sides, one of them is stripped. For reference, here is a picture of the torx screw from the other thread:
I am looking for a solution to turn the screw. Here are some suggestions after researching fixing stripped torx screws in general:
1. superglue a torx bit in it
2. use a left-hand drill bit or easy-out bit
3. use a drill
My concern is this torx screw is probably a "non-replaceable part" so reusing it somehow would seem best.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance!

Update: I managed to free the torx nut using a #27 bit instead of #25.
I then followed the process of removing the steering and replacing with the one I purchased off e-bay with no problems. However...
Buyer beware:
The steering wheel was from a '99 4runner and the frame looked identical to the '98, but there was apparently a slight difference. After replacing the airbag and hooking up my battery, the horn would go off. The contacts were misaligned with the airbag module. Removing the horn fuse was the only way to shut off the horn.
The wheel I purchased must have been from a wrecked vehicle. The leather on it was in perfect oem condition and that was the main purpose of swapping the wheel in the first place.
Now I have to either find another wheel, an upholstry shop, or do the wrap myself.
After some researching some upholstry shops, I paid less for the wheel off ebay than the $300+ some shops are asking for...frustrating
