I need some bumper and bodywork help gang!
I own a 2000 4Runner (Gen 3 with Cali emissions), which I do some sand and some mud in and do a lot of recovery and rescue (my tow strap and recovery hooks have been used more for other people than for myself - what does it say when I carry a traffic vest and gloves, glowstick flares and beacons/strobes onboard!), but is mostly my street hauler and commuter. It is almost al OEM, except for tires and does everything I want it to (for now ).
A couple of days ago, I parked in a mall parking lot and went inside. When I came back, I found the driver's side trim plate on the rear bumper (which inserts into the rear wheel well's factory mud flap) had a slit pushed into it and the plate was pushed into the quarter panel about 1-1/2". I'm going to look into a paintless repair of the panel, but where I live, the drivers are generally careless and very agressive, so I am seriously looking into some armor for the beast when I can afford to. I like the styling and the utility of the offroad bumpers, but don't have a need to install a winch in the near future, but may get a front reciever.
Can anyone recommend equipment or a dealer in the Southeast Virginia/Northeastern North Carolina are I can consider. Ideas about local offroad clubs would be appreciated as well.
Thanks for the help and all you do,
Bear

One other thing, gang... My truck came with a factory Cat III reciever hitch, which I would like to keep. I use my truck for towing quite a bit.
Thanks again,

Not the family with places in your area. Might have to go custom if you want a bumper made. Or search rear bumpers. There are a few that are made and shipped. Goodluck.
