Help! Newbie here

Hey guys, nice board. My 90 v6 runner had a open t-stat in it causing o/d to go in and out, so I replaced it. Now only when cruising it gets hot (almost to red) but then comes down drastically if I get on the gas.It has new radiator. I filled it up through the upper hose in order to get the air out. It will not get hot just idling either. Any ideas? If I have to I will just put back in the gutted T-stat and manually over ride the o/d relay....By the way where is that located? Thanks for your help. BTW is anyone in here located in northern VA?

Welcome!
I'd go w/ the clutch fan and also check your HG, we all know they had the recall! One more thing, go with the Toyota T-stat and cut the nipple off! The aftermarket t-stats will cause your rig to OH, I seen it time and time again! 10-4?
Good Luck!

Cool, you might be right on.It has a aftermarket t-stat with two holes drilled in it and the fan clutch is border line, although holding the throttle about 3k under the hood that fan moves some serious air!! Oh well we will see. Thanks for the help on my turd!
